VELT
“Traditional payment rails in emerging markets carry 3–5 day settlement windows, opaque fee structures, and complete dependency on legacy banking intermediaries. For businesses operating across borders, this isn't a minor inconvenience — it's a structural ceiling on growth.”
Velt is my own venture. A blockchain-based payments infrastructure platform built from the ground up to solve the settlement lag and fee opacity that makes cross-border commerce painful for businesses in emerging markets.
The core system routes payments through smart contracts on a permissioned EVM-compatible chain, achieving sub-minute settlement with deterministic fees. The backend is a Node.js microservices architecture behind GraphQL, with a React dashboard for business clients and a React Native mobile app for end users.
I designed and built the entire stack: smart contract architecture in Solidity, API layer in TypeScript/Node.js with PostgreSQL and Redis, CI/CD on AWS with Docker/Kubernetes, and the marketing site in Next.js with GSAP animations.
The branding is deliberate — deep charcoal aesthetic, a trajectory-based 'V' wordmark representing upward movement, premium typography. Velt should feel like the payments infrastructure company it aims to be, not a side project.
